anna maria island, florida

I spent four days on an island off the gulf coast of Florida called Anna Maria, staying in a house with my mother, my brother, my sister-in-law and their 3 boys. We saw many birds, seashells, sunsets, some manta rays, a dolphin, crabs and other scuttling things that live in shells, we walked on the beach, ate ice cream and drank fresh-squeezed orange juice, we did an informal but respectful Seder, we swam in the sea and the pool, finished a jigsaw puzzle and folded paper airplanes, made some drawings. To get there and back we crossed the Sunshine Skyway. It was an altogether pleasant week and I felt so good to be warm after such a long cold winter. It may be spring here now, though it's being doled out rather sparingly. Still, the daffodils and hyacinths have emerged, and others can't be too far behind.
